#Mamavation Mondays

18 Jul

Holy crap, it’s Monday again and that means Mamavation Mondays! Here’s this week’s blogging prompt

Question: What has been your favorite Grunt Style workout? If you aren’t doing his workouts what has been your strength training routine?

Honestly, I haven’t done tried any of the workouts because I’m more than a little terrified.

But! It’s high time I had some more confidence in myself, put my big girl pants on, and suck it up,  Buttercup.

I’m going to do it!

What’s the worst that can happen? I burn calories? Oh, the horror!

This week has been seriously re-donk-u-lous.

There was a lot of stuff going on. Just like every other week…

But, I scheduled time to exercise. And I stuck with it!

I ran Monday, Wednesday and Friday. By Friday, running was a whole lot easier! Imagine that! I’m taking part in a virtual half marathon. I’m committed. I’m focused. I’m going to do it. I’m running for the exercise, the endorphin high and the 3x a week running to become habit.

The only down fall is you can’t out train bad eating habits… and mine were less than stellar this week.

Friday I wrote a post where I was a tease. There were some HUGE things happening in my life that pretty much had me scared shitless. And eating a lot of crap…

Today all the appropriate people know, all the Ts have been crossed and the Is have been dotted and I can share.

I put in my two week notice at work.

I’m quitting my job and going back to school.

Now that the decision has been made and everything is out and I can’t take it back, I feel like a giant weight has been lifted. If only the scale would show that…

This post is sponsored by Grunt Style and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway hosted by Mamavation and sponsored by Grunt Style.

Don’t be afraid! Don’t be intimidated. Just do the workouts and beat them!!! Hope this week is much better for you!

I’ve done a few and I’ve survived! The soreness is a reminder I’m doing something good for myself and my future family. I LOVE it!

Congrats on taking those huge life steps! You know, the scale might not show that weight being lifted, but your better mood & optimism might start showing through in your eating and choices. Best of luck to you this week. Keep going strong.

Thanks! My mood has changed dramatically… towards life and working out. It’s amazing! And having you as part of my awesome support system totally helps! 🙂

If your job was a stressor….you should see some relief even on the scale. Stress does so much, and probably really effected your eating.

Good luck! and good job on the workouts!

You’re SO right! In the 3 days since giving my resignation I’ve been able to run farther more easily. Makes working out suck a little less! 🙂

Don’t let the names intimidate you- yeah, they’re not easy, but the things most worth our while rarely are. Just dive in, pause when you need to and do the dang thing. I know you can do it!

Now that I’ve done one of the gruntstyle workouts and have lived to tell the tale, the intimidating names kinda make me feel like a bad ass. 🙂

Darling, you can most definitely do it! (um… the gruntstyle workouts AND going back to school full time) – and with both – take everything in small chunks because anyone can do a small amount of something 🙂 I’m so proud of you!

I did the ab crushahhh and loved it! I’m totally feeling it today, but it’s a good sore. School isn’t going to be easy, either, but I can totally do that, too!
Thanks for the love, Shelley. As usual, you know exactly what to say and when. 🙂

Congratulations on making a huge decision that will change your life! That takes guts to do and kudos to you! Great job on working out and even if you didn’t eat as well as you wanted, at least you did work out! Good luck!

Thanks! Actually making the decision to quit my job and go back to school was the hardest part. Now I have a plan and I can totally work with that!

You’re right, workouts and no so awesome food choices are tons better than bad choices and no exercise. Thanks for the support! 🙂

You’re doing a great job building fitness habits! You can do the same with healthy eating. Just make a few changes and roll with it.

I try to change everything all at once, get overwhelmed and throw in the towel for the whole shebang. Thanks for reminding me it’s all about the baby steps. 🙂

Back to school is a huge change, congratulations! You will do very well, and we are all here to support you.
Eating habits are far and away my worst challenge, so I know how hard it is changing that. If you need any support, let me know, I’d be glad to give you a shoulder to lean on.

I tend to emo-eat…especially when I’m stressing out. So, I stopped buying junk…or at least junk I like. If it’s not there, I can’t pig out on it.

Thanks for the shoulder and the support. I REALLY appreciate it! 🙂

Congratulations on going back to school!!! Take the workouts one movement at a time. I sometimes trick my brain by counting up to 13 and back down instead of thinking of them as 25 reps. Good luck this week and keep smiling:)

    • smallworldbiggirl July 21, 2011 at 9:53 pm #

Thanks! I’m excited and scared at the same time, but I got this!

I totally did the count to 13 and back down. Totally made things seem more manageable! 🙂
