#Mamavation Monday

4 Jul

Holy french toast.

I had one of the best weekends I’ve had in a LONG time this weekend.

It was my pleasure to spend 24+ hours with the awesome and amazing Katie and the fabulous Rachel.

Seriously, it was amazeballs.

We all happened to be in the same area at the same time and decided to meet for our own little ‘conference’- Kzoocation ’11

We had no swag. Other than our slurpee cups.

No serious food plans. We did make pretty decent food choices, but we also decided calories didn’t count this weekend.

No plans to exercise. We did laugh  A LOT! Grunt Style workouts have NOTHING on the ab workouts we got laughing. Seriously. I almost wet my pants more than once.

We had an awesome time. I seriously recommend spending time with these phenomenal women if you ever have the chance. They are two awesome women!

How did well did you manage to eat healthy over the holiday weekend (4th of July and Canada Day)? Any tips for the rest of the summer?

I didn’t.

I enjoyed myself.

I had bits and pieces of all the things I really wanted to eat.

I knew if I didn’t have little tastes of things, I’d eat the healthy things and then binge.

Yep, it’s what works for me.

And like Angela says… if it’s less than two bites, it doesn’t count.

Hey! Have you voted for Mamavation Mom yet? You should, I have!

We’re awesome. We rock. Really, what more does the world need to know? 😉 PS Forget #teamedward …it’s really all about #teamstretchmarks

Dude, I’m not even kidding. I’m seriously debating changing my blog name. I’ve got a lot of fat of the emotional and jiggly persuasion around my middle (and arms, and chest and legs and…) that I need to get rid of. the stretch marks will always be there as a reminder of where I’ve been and how far I’ve come. And don’t forget FUL!!!!!

Your weekend sounds fabulous! Wish I was there… Laughing does work the ab muscles and is good for the soul. You just feel good which is healthy. Glad to hear you made healthy food choices even when hanging out with friends. That can sometimes be tough. Keep up the good work!

It helped that we were too busy laughing and talking to put anything in our mouths. 🙂

It sounds like you had a phenomenal time. Nothing beats some time with girlfriends, new or old.

I think you are having way to much fun out there with the girls. I think the eating bits of everything is a great plan. Enjoy the rest of your Rachel time. Big Hugs!

I agree… Calories don’t count on holidays, holiday weekends, vacation, long weekends… or if it’s two bites or less. 🙂

I feel like I kinda absorbed some of your awesomeness since I got to talk to 2 out of 3 of you guys this weekend… should have handed you the phone so I could have chatted with the tri-fecta of awesomeness 🙂 It sounds like y’all had an awesome weekend and I’m so glad!

    • smallworldbiggirl July 9, 2011 at 12:56 am #

My absorbed awesomeness is nothing compared to the real deal! Haha. 🙂

I adore your honesty and approach. My mom lost 100+ lbs just cutting back portions and not depriving herself. She said the mentality of deprivation always got to her when she’d dieted before, so dieting always failed for her. Congratulations on being self-aware enough to understand what will help you!

Thanks! My honest and apporach (along with my big mouth…) get me into trouble occasionally. 🙂
If I feel like I’m being deprived I binge and I binge HARD. Having just a little leaves me completely satisfied. I can’t believe I didn’t discover it sooner! Ah well, live and learn!
